Why is IPTV the Next Buzzword in Entertainment?

IPTV is an acronym that many may not be familiar with yet, but that is about to change. Why is IPTV set to be the next big thing for entertainment? The reasons are threefold: it has the backing from studios and cable providers, it is innately more efficient while being more powerful, and there are untapped features that have yet to materialize which could change the entertainment landscape forever. Before discussing the benefits of IPTV, let us take a moment to examine just what IPTV is.

Loosely defined, IPTV is any digital cable test iptv  service that is provided over the Internet and/or closed networks directly attached to the Internet itself. Both studios and digital cable providers are backing IPTV in some form, though it seems likely that studios are pushing harder for IPTV because it will inevitably free them from the current paradigm which has them forced to deal with middle-men in the form of digital cable providers. It is also worth noting that telephone companies that have expanded into the realm of digital cable seem to be the key driving force behind IPTV outside of studios that want to directly market to consumers.

One of the primary benefits of IPTV is that older cable systems use wide-array broadcasting techniques that essentially transmit every single channel to every single property in their range and then rely on set top boxes to determine which channels consumers are eligible for based on their contract. This is a great arrangement for people who have black boxes capable of decoding all signals, but it is a poor arrangement when it comes to overhead and the environment. Simply put, there is only so much data that can be transmitted over any medium, and IPTV gets around this by allowing only the channels that are being used and/or recorded to be transmitted. The result is an endless overhead of channels at potentially higher quality points along with less power utilizations.
